We like:
This classic 4 tray wormery is a tried and tested design. Its layered structure means you see at a glance how the worms are getting on. The worms start off in the bottom tray and follow the food up as you add scraps to each tray. As the worms move up, they leave rich compost behind them. So, once the top tray is full, the bottom tray should be full of compost. Empty the tray and place it on the top for the whole process to start again.
As the worms work their way through the wormery, they also produce a continual supply of rich organic plant feed, which can be collected from a tap at the base. The kit includes tiger worms, worm bedding, lime mix, tap and full instructions.
We’re not so keen on:
The little holes between the levels can get clogged if the trays aren’t cleaned regularly, and the tap could be more robust.
